Concept Paper: Cross-Platform 3D Video Player for Passive Polarized Display Systems

Document ID: 3D-VP-POL-2025 Version: 1.0 Type: Software Architecture & Implementation Proposal

Key Features of Our 3D Video Player:

  • Linear polarization: Left and right images are polarized at orthogonal linear angles (e.g., 0° and 90°). Works well when viewer’s head remains upright; tilting the head causes crosstalk.
  • Circular polarization: Uses left- and right-handed circular polarization (LHCP/RHCP) to reduce sensitivity to head tilt and improve comfort.

While not a "native" 3D player, you can use the Wall filter to view 3D content, though it is more difficult to set up for polarized glasses than the others. Compatibility: All platforms. 🔗 Download VLC 🛠️ Quick Setup Guide for Polarized Glasses 3d video player for polarized glasses link

  • Fix: In Stereoscopic Player, set "Resolution to render at" to "3840x2160" and interleaving to "Row (2x vertical)."

Final Verdict: If you use Polarized (Passive) glasses, your display uses "Interlaced" video. Do not use "Frame Sequential" or "Top-Bottom" output—your glasses won't sync. Use PotPlayer (Free) or Stereoscopic Player (Paid) , set the output to Interlaced, and enjoy your 3D collection without the headache. Concept Paper: Cross-Platform 3D Video Player for Passive
