    1. Do not run as Administrator immediately. Instead, right-click Setup.exe > Properties > Compatibility tab.
    2. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
    3. Check "Run this program as an administrator".
    4. Apply, then run.
    • Wilcom 2006 was released before Windows 7 existed. It was designed for Windows XP (32-bit).
    • Windows 7 x64 does not have native 16- or 32-bit subsystem support for very old installers without workarounds. The original "SP4 R2" installer will likely fail or crash on 64-bit Windows 7.
    1. Compatibility Mode: Right-click on the installation executable and select "Properties". Then, navigate to the "Compatibility" tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)".
    2. Run as Administrator: Right-click on the installation executable and select "Run as administrator".
    3. Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
