This document describes how to check for, download, and install firmware updates for the TP‑Link TD‑854W ADSL modem/router. It covers preparing the device, backing up settings, obtaining the correct firmware, the update process, and post‑update verification and troubleshooting.

• Locating Version: Check the silver sticker on the bottom of the device or log into the web interface and check the System Status page.

• It will not increase your speed beyond 24Mbps (ADSL2+ limit).
