Twrp Samsung J2 Core
⚠️ Critical Note Before You Start
The Samsung J2 Core is one of the few modern Samsung phones with a MediaTek (MTK) chipset, not Exynos or Snapdragon. This makes the process different from other Galaxy phones. It also has Project Treble support (lite version), which helps with custom ROMs.
1. Root Access (Magisk)
The J2 Core’s 1GB RAM struggles with Samsung’s background services. Rooting lets you install apps like Greenify or L Speed to reduce RAM usage. TWRP is the easiest pathway to flash Magisk (systemless root). twrp samsung j2 core

3. De-bloating
Samsung’s stock firmware includes OneDrive, Microsoft Office, Facebook, and several Samsung apps. Using TWRP’s file manager or flashing a de-bloated zip, you can remove these from the /system partition. Unzip and run Odin3
Step 2: Configure Odin on PC
- Unzip and run Odin3.exe as Administrator.
- Click the Options tab. Uncheck “Auto Reboot”. (Very important! If the phone reboots immediately, Samsung’s stock recovery will overwrite TWRP).
- Check only F. Reset Time.
Installing Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) on a Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (SM-J260F/G/M) transforms the device from a restricted Go Edition phone into a highly customizable tool. Because the J2 Core has limited internal storage (8GB) and RAM (1GB), TWRP is primarily used to bypass these hardware bottlenecks through advanced software modifications.
