No Context-Sensitive Help
Unlike modern sims (e.g., Derail Valley), Train Simulator Classic doesn’t show the current key bind for “the action you can perform right now.” You just have to memorize dozens of keys or keep a PDF open. These keys manage the physical movement and power
Audio & Signals: Sound the horn with Space (Shift+Space for secondary) and ring the bell with B. C: Cycle through cab views
- C: Cycle through cab views.
- Space: Free camera on/off.
- Mouse: Move the camera in free camera mode.
- G (Throw Switch / Change Points): Changes the direction of the upcoming switch. Warning: Only works if you have permission (dispatching rights) or are in Free Roam.
- Shift + G (Throw Opposite Switch): Controls the second switch ahead, useful for complex ladders.
- T (Couple / Uncouple): Pressing T uncouples the front of your current car from the car ahead. To uncouple at the rear, you need to use the HUD or target the specific coupler.
- Shift + T (Coupler On/Off): Disables automatic coupling, allowing you to push against a car without hooking up.
- F7: Cycle through camera angles ( external, cab, etc.)
- F8: Toggle on/off - free camera (you can move camera freely)
