By 2020, Albania had largely transitioned from paper-based registries to a centralized National Electronic Civil Status Register (Regjistri Kombëtar i Gjendjes Civile - RKGC) , managed by the General Directorate of Civil Status (Drejtoria e Përgjithshme e Gjendjes Civile) under the Ministry of Interior.
Cost: Small administrative fee (approx. 200–500 ALL, depending on municipality).
Outcome: Marriage certificate and updated family booklet (Libri i Familjes) if requested.
