Step 5: The upgrade process (critical phase)

Once you click upload:

1. Power off the phone completely.
2. In PhoenixSuit, click “Firmware” → then “Upgrade” or “Start” (depending on tool).
3. While holding the appropriate button(s) for your device (commonly Volume Down or Volume Up), connect the phone to the PC via USB.
4. The PC should detect the phone and PhoenixSuit will begin flashing. If the phone isn’t detected, try:

   For experienced technicians, the process is straightforward using the standard SPD upgrade tool protocol. Beginners may find it difficult due to the requirement for specific SPD drivers and "test point" connections for some advanced repairs. Effectiveness:

   Why use the manual PAC install method?

   Most TA1165 units update automatically via TR-069 (remote ISP management). However, you may need a manual install if:

   • Go to Settings → Port Configuration → Select the COM port your phone is using.
   • Check ONLY USB Port (do not select UART).
