Hello everyone — continuing the story from Chapter 1, here’s Chapter 2: The Kun Family. This one focuses on connection, boundaries, and the little rituals that make blended families work.

• Alex notices Liam tinkering with an old radio. Instead of interrupting, Alex asks about it. Shared interest discovered; an olive branch forms.

"Ah," she said, holding up a plastic bag of homemade kimchi. "The Kun family struggle. I remember it well. Min-Jun, your father once cried because I put the chopsticks in the wrong drawer."

That night, the protagonist finds a note slipped under their bedroom door. It’s from Uncle Kun’s private study, written on heavy cream stationery:

She sat down next to Mr. Kun and said, "You used to sing this song to me on our first date."

Dinner was the centerpiece of their life. There were no phones, no television, and certainly no eating on the couch. Mrs. Kun—Leo’s mother—had adapted quickly, trading her old "breakfast for dinner" spontaneity for multi-course meals served on porcelain. She looked happy, but Leo sometimes caught her eye across the table, a silent apology lingering in her gaze as Mr. Kun corrected Leo’s grip on his chopsticks.
