Step 1: Pair the Printer as a Bluetooth Device (Do NOT add as printer yet)
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Turn on Bluetooth.
- Click “Add Bluetooth or other device” > Bluetooth.
- Put your MTPII printer into pairing mode (usually hold power button + paper feed button for 3 seconds until blue/red light flashes).
- When
MTPII(or similar name) appears, click it. - Enter passkey
0000(or as specified in your manual). - Important: After pairing, it will appear as “Connected” under Other devices—not under Printers. This is correct.
For web-based POS systems (Square, Shopify POS), install a virtual COM port bridge such as RawPrint or Com2TCP to redirect output to the Bluetooth COM port. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices
- Open Notepad, type something, hit Ctrl+P.
- Choose your MTPII printer and click Print.
If basic printing works but formatting is wrong, download the free POS-5890 driver, which is compatible with the vast majority of MTPII boards.
Run the Installer: Use the driver provided by the manufacturer (often on a small CD or via Official Support Sites).
