MingLiU-ExtB (細明體-ExtB) is a specialized font designed by DynaComware and distributed by Microsoft. It is a traditional "serif" or "Ming" style typeface, characterized by thin strokes and triangular serifs that make it highly readable for both body text and headlines.
When Unicode was standardized, it quickly became apparent that 20,000 characters were insufficient to cover all historical, dialectical, and rare Han characters (Hanzi/Kanji/Hanja).
