- Check version: Open the pack’s
pack.mcmetafile with Notepad. Look for"pack_format": 4. (Version 4 = 1.12–1.12.2). If it says3or5, it’s the wrong format. - Conflicting mods: Mods like OptiFine (with internal shaders) or Dynamic Lights can override the lightmap. Disable them or set OptiFine’s internal shaders to "OFF."
- Check file structure: Inside the
.zip, there should be a folder path likeassets/minecraft/textures/environment/lightmap.png. If the.pngis missing or in the wrong place, the pack won’t work. - Smooth lighting: Go to Options > Video Settings > Smooth Lighting and set it to "Minimum" or "Off" for the best effect.
