As of October 2023, WhatsApp no longer officially supports Android 4.4 (KitKat). To use the app, your device must now run Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer.

  1. Open Google Play Store on your Android 4.4.4 device.
  2. Search for "WhatsApp Business".
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Verify your phone number (same as regular WhatsApp).
  5. Done. You can use it exactly like normal WhatsApp.

Third-Party WhatsApp Mods: Some unauthorized WhatsApp modifications may support older versions, but these risk account bans or data security.

  1. Use WhatsApp Web: If you have another phone (even an old iPhone or newer Android) that can run WhatsApp normally, you can use your Android 4.4.4 tablet or phone to access WhatsApp Web via a browser (Chrome or Firefox for KitKat).
  2. Install a Custom ROM (Advanced Users): Flash a lightweight Android 5.1 or 6.0 ROM (e.g., LineageOS) on your device. This allows you to install the real WhatsApp.
  3. Buy a $50 Used Phone: Any used Android phone from 2017 or later (e.g., Moto E, Samsung J series) will run Android 5.0+ and support the real WhatsApp safely.
