EmuELEC 4.3 is a version of the open-source, retro-gaming operating system designed specifically for Amlogic-based TV boxes and handheld devices

Warning: EmuELEC 4.3 does not support Rockchip devices (like the RK3328) or Allwinner chips. It is strictly for Amlogic.

EmuELEC 4.3 is a Linux-based operating system specifically designed for retro gaming on budget handhelds and Android TV boxes

  1. Press Start to open the main menu.
  2. Go to Game Settings.
  3. Set CPU Governor to Performance.
  4. Warning: Do not set this to "Extreme" unless you have active cooling (a fan). Your box will overheat.

After months of development, EmuELEC 4.3 is officially live. Whether you're rocking an S905, S912, or newer S922X device, this release fine-tunes the experience for low-lag, high-compatibility retro gaming.

No Media Bloat: Unlike standard Batocera builds, it excludes heavy media center apps like Kodi to maximize system resources strictly for emulation.

  • Kernel 4.9.x (optimized for Amlogic)
  • RetroArch 1.9.x
  • Standalone emulators (Dolphin, PPSSPP, etc.)

: If you are using an older S905 device (without a letter like X or D), it is recommended to stay on version 4.3
