Historically, Dahua devices shipped with a set of default accounts, each with its own permission level. However, newer models (manufactured within the last several years) typically do not have a default password; they require the user to initialize a strong password upon the first startup. • Power off the DVR.
• Press and hold the reset button.
• Power on the DVR while still holding the reset button for a few seconds until the device beeps or the lights flash, indicating a reset.

Via Local Monitor (Direct VGA/HDMI connection)

1. Right-click on the live view → Main Menu.
2. Log in with admin / admin (or your current password).
3. Go to Settings → Account → User.
4. Select the admin user → Click Modify.
5. Enter the old password → Set a strong new password (8–16 characters, mix of letters, numbers, and symbols).
6. Confirm → Save.

Note: Performing a factory reset via the physical button will often erase all configuration settings, though recordings on the hard drive are typically preserved.  dahua dvr default password
