Comprehensive Guide to CATIA V5 Sketch Tools
1. Introduction to the Sketcher Workbench
In CATIA V5, the Sketcher is the foundation of 3D modeling. It is a 2D environment where you define the profiles and cross-sections that are later extruded, revolved, or swept into 3D solid parts. A well-constrained sketch is the key to a stable parametric model.
Once the basic shapes are down, the Operation toolbar allows for refinement. Corner (Fillet): Rounds off the intersection of two lines. Chamfer: Creates a beveled edge between two lines. catia+v5+sketch+tools
- Line: The line tool is used to create a single line or a series of connected lines. It can be accessed by clicking on the "Line" icon in the sketch toolbar or by using the keyboard shortcut "L".
