Drivers and Installation
- The device originally used a standard serial (COM) interface. For modern PCs, use a quality USB-to-serial adapter (FTDI chip recommended) and install its drivers.

4. Installation Steps (Windows 10/11)
- Do not plug in the cable yet (if possible).
- Run the driver installer as Administrator.
- After installation completes, plug in the BMW Scanner cable.
- Open Device Manager → Ports (COM & LPT).
- You should see
USB-SERIAL CH340 (COMx)orFTDI (COMx). - Right-click → Properties → Port Settings → Set Bits per second to
9600(or leave default). - Note the COM port number (e.g., COM3).
