Bahamas+hot May 2026

The Bahamas enjoys a subtropical climate with consistent warmth.

  • Drink 2x more water than you think – Rum punch dehydrates you faster than you sweat.
  • Peak sun hours: 11 AM – 3 PM – Schedule indoor activities (museums, aquarium, shopping) or a beach nap under an umbrella.
  • Wear linen or quick-dry clothes – Cotton becomes a wet rag in humidity.
  • Use a cooling towel – Sounds silly, works like magic.
  • Book a room with AC – Many “charming” guesthouses don’t have it. Check before booking.
  1. Stay north – Abacos, Berry Islands, Grand Bahama are 3–5°F cooler than Nassau/Exuma.
  2. Dawn patrol – Do activities 6–10 AM, then siesta 12–4 PM.
  3. Hydrate with electrolytes – Not just water. Coconut water + salt.
  4. Choose resorts with:

Winner for less heat: Aruba or northern Bahamas (Abacos slightly cooler than Nassau). bahamas+hot
