Getting into Assetto Corsa is a great move if you want the ultimate driving simulator, but finding a "highly compressed" version can be a bit of a minefield. 🏎️ Why Assetto Corsa?

1. Steam’s “Move Install Folder” Feature: Install Assetto Corsa on an external USB 3.0 drive or a secondary cheaper HDD.
2. Selective Download (Steam): Right-click Assetto Corsa → Properties → DLC. Uncheck DLCs you don’t use. The base game alone is only ~12 GB.
3. CompactGUI: A free open-source tool that compresses installed game files using Windows’ native compact.exe algorithm. It can shrink Assetto Corsa from 35 GB to 22 GB with zero performance loss.
4. Delete Unnecessary Mods: Many players hoard 20 GB of cars they never drive. Use Content Manager to purge unused assets.
5. Public Wi-Fi or Library Downloads: Use a friend’s connection or a local library to download the official game once, then copy the folder to your PC via an external drive.
